The Port, Darling Harbour

The Port is a new addition to Darling Harbour and is in stark contrast to anything else in this area. The interior is purposefully Scandinavian in style and very open planned, giving it a very light and airy feel.

The staff really weren't very good but I'm hoping this is just because it is a new establishment and they need a bit of practice. They didn't really explain the menu so we ended up over ordering big time.

Firstly, their popcorn cauliflower is delicious! We had the heirloom tomato salad, pictured above, which was ok. It was fresh but the tomatoes lacked flavour and the olives tasted like they may have come from a jar. We also had tomato and mozarella flatbread in addition to the house made selection of dips. The dips were delicious, and flatbread that was served with them was crispy on the edges, soft in the imddle and properly salted. The tomato and mozarella flatbread was not needed and nowhere near as good. Lastly, we had the boneless chicken - don't bother. It was 70% breadcrumb and 30% chicken, which was dry and tasteless.

I would go back to The Port for drinks and snacks as the setting is beautiful but I wouldn't eat lunch or dinner here again.
