Winzer Krems - 2016 Grüner Veltliner

Good for: snacks
I'll say it upfront - I don't love this wine. But I do like it. It does taste a little cheap (which it is) but for €4.80 a bottle it is worth getting a couple if you just happen to be in the Wachau Valley in Austria.
It has a slight fizz but is not bubbly so it lingers on your tongue a little. There are very light apricot tones with a definite stone fruit punch whilst maintaing a light, crisp and refreshing overall feel.
The grapes are taken from vines around the Wachau area not just the immediate Krems vineyard.
I would have this wine at the start of a low key barbeque with friends and having a few snacks. Or, on the complete other hand, when everyone is a bit drunk and isn't so conscious of how good the wine is that they are drinking!
