Uncle Tetsu's Cheesecake, Sydney

I had never tried Japanese cheesecake before so didn't know what to expect whilst we stood in line for 15 minutes at the dodgy end of town.

We saw the chefs preparing materials, mixing batter, pouring smooth liquid into tins and putting trays of cheesecake into one of the many large ovens.

The wait was worth it as we got a freshly baked cheesecake straight from the oven.

A warning - these cheesecakes are warm. They are light, airy, cloud like mouthfuls of buttery goodness. We demolished one between the two of us in under 10 minutes.

I'll be honest, I was sceptical before trying. I don't really like typical Asian desserts and I absolutely love a traditional New York cheesecake however this was actually good. You can't really compare it to a traditional western cheesecake (whether it's New York or German) but treat it as it's own warm, fuzzy, heart warming dessert and it's wonderfully enjoyable.
