Good for: drinking and meat
Considering neither Stephen or I are big fans of Shiraz, we both were amazed when we liked this one from Tscharke's. We drank a glass on it's own first and it was delicious. The tasting notes are as follows and I you can really taste every single one: "The palate is voluptuous, blackberries, crushed violets, vanillin, smoky bacon, malt and pepper spice."
We then had this with a dinner of pork cutlets and it worked really nicely - I guess the smoky bacon notes of the wine enhanced the pork.
Whilst the tasting notes make it sound like the ultimate winter warmer, I think it works just as well for other seasons.
